Activity # 4: Optional

I haven't registered my blog on PLCMC Central. I know that's optional, and I'm not really sure what the benefit is for registering. I'll look into that later and see if it applies to me, or would advance my cause. But for now I haven't registered.

Activity # 3: Check!

Well, obviously I've set up my blog and added my first post, so that's #3 accomplished with no pulling of hair or gnashing of teeth.

I'll do # 2 from home. I don't have earplugs/buds at work, and that one involves listening to a podcast.

At the starting gate!: Activity # 1

I'm not usually a slow starter when it comes to things academic, but things have been particularly busy lately. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

# 1: Visit the 23 Things blog to see how it works

Fun! All I can say is I wish our library would participate and offer some of the great prizes. Can't see that happening, but a girl can dream.

I think this program is just a wonderful idea. It's set up to be fun, educational and to expose librarians to both the basics and some specialty sites online. Since the future of librarianship is guaranteed to rely heavily on the internet, this sounds like a useful primer to all things web-based.

I think I have a fairly firm grasp on the set up after visiting the blog, but it's good to know it's there if I need to refer to it for anything later.

Here we go!

How fun, another blog for a library school class. This is one of my very favorite things, as would be shown by the number of blogs I write.

Blogs are such great tools for communicating information. I'm looking forward to exploring the 23 things!
